Dress Code in the Church

"PROPER ATTIRE MUST BE WORN, NO SHORTS, TANK TOPS, ETC. IF YOU ARE
NOT PROPERLY ATTIRED, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE COURTROOM"

In the recent past, I had the opportunity to experience the judicial
machinery of the United States in action (to an extent) when I
appeared in court in relation to a speeding ticket. :)

The above statement is quoted (capitalized as is) from the letter to
me from the court regarding my hearing.

This letter came to my mind when I was reading some of the thoughts
expressed in this forum regarding implementing a dress code in our
church worship.

If the courts in the US, (still?!) considered by many as the symbol
of order and justice in the world, demands this kind of discipline
when in session - how much more discipline and awe is warranted when
we come before the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings and the judge of
Judges?? If only we could realize this on our own - our minds, our
hearts, and indeed our dresses would have been in order.

"Let us look on with awe and trembling.."
