Yohannans Mullakkals Vijayans

In this forum these days, I have seen some stonch devotees of Prof. MYY.
Then some people who believe he is ok and should be allowed more
lineance etc.

In my life so far, I have also seen some people in a similar manner
swearing by Devasya Mullakkal. I was amazed at the kind of influence
this man can have on otherwise ordinary good people.

Also where I stay in Albany, I have met friends who have a similar
witness about Bro. Mathew Vergis.(a.k.a. Vijayan)

Do I have anything personal against these people? No. Except for seeing
Bro. Mathew Vergis once, and communicating a few times on email with
him, I have no contact with any of the above. I have not even seen any
of their TV shows.

I do not disagree that they are doing a good work in a wounded world
where the Church is not able to work as it needs to. But my contention
against them is the cancer they are helping to spread over the long
term. The Body of Christ does not matter anymore, a Yohannan or a
Mullakkal or a Vijayan is what matters. Why do these people not work
within the framework of the Church? (This is what I asked Bro. Mathew
Vergis too).

Sure there are many excuses and I myself am not unaware of the facts.
The visible Church has its limitations. But sirs, the Lord has given
you talents so that you may work to overcome such limitations of the
Church and strengthen the Church - even lead us into the fullness of
life within the Church, not weaken it even further. If you are given
more, more will be asked of you.

As for myself, I do not need a Kalpana to stay away from such meetings
(whether or not so-and-so achen attends etc) and I thank God for that,
but I am appalled to see several people here willing to disobey even
the Synod's direction. Will you all listen if God was to come down and
command you? Maybe not. Because we will have our own justifications in
an ecumenical world.
(I know I am sounding too Appachen like, let me stop. Just that I have
personally felt the pain of the effect of such splinter groups eating
away at the Church and so decided to voice my concern - forgive me)

Nothing can draw away those who have been truly called by the Father. You know that.
