This centre was started by HG Dr. Philipose Mar Theophilose of blessed
memory (Mumbaikars fondly remember HG as Valiya Thirumeni) in 1983 as a
rehabilitation centre for the
blind. Now it has extended itself to care for the
hearing impaired, the orthopaedically handicapped and
the mentally challenged also.
I saw at the website several videos of children whom
the centre has helped and is helping. This centre is
"community based" as they call it, where the trained
professionals from the centre go into the community
and help and treat the patients. Many hundreds of
"differently abled" children of God have been blessed
and have seen benefits of this rehabilitation centre.
If you are planning to go on a vacation to Kerala,
especially if your hometown is close to Trivandrum, do
pay a visit to this centre. The address is given at

letting them know that you are in their thoughts is a
great help. This Christmas, do share a moment for the
people at this centre.
Mar Gregorios Rehabilitation Centre is an active
mission of the MGOCSM. Prof. Joseph K. Alexander who
is among the Vice Presidents of the Centre, is a
senior MGOCSM leader, and so are also the bishops,
including H.G. Zachariah Mar Theophilose (recently
enthroned as Metropolitan of Malabar Diocese). Joseph
Alexander sir and Theophilose Thirumeni are also
internet active and members of ICON, which is a huge plus to contact them.
It would be great to plan any MGOCSM activities with
them involving the centre.
