As far as Malayalam goes, I should be counted on the side of the
illiterates. It is with great difficulty that I read this much,
translating it is beyond me. I hope someone else can take up the
task. Here is an excerpt:
"Palliyil Pattakar prasangikkunnathu koodathe thiranjeduthu
kaiveppodum kalpanayodum koode ayakkapedunna upadeshikale kondum
prasangam nadathichukollveen. Allathe upadeshikalennu paranju varunna
Mathavirodhikalekondum Kalppikkapettirikkunna Nombu, Namaskaram,
Kurishuvara, Kumbideel, Kurbana, Kumbasaram, Mamodeesa, rogikalkkulla
Saithu pooshal, muthalaaya karmangalum, Thampuraane petta ammayodum,
parishuddhanmaarodumulla Madhyastha praarthanakalum, nisaaramennu
vechu avare aadarikkathe ninnikkunna kalla upadeshttakalekondum
palliyil vacho, ningalude kootathil vacho prasangipikkukayum, avarude
duroopadeshangale kelkkukayum cheythupokaruthu."
My translation:
"Other than the sermons by the priests in the Churches, you may
conduct sermons by preachers with the blessings of the Church. But do
not welcome the heretics who come as preachers who do not value such
acts like canonical fasts, prayers,making the sign of the cross,
kneeling down, Eucharist, confession, baptism, annointing the sick,
also intercessions to the Mother of God and to the saints, and who do
not practise these, do not give them opportunity to speak in the
church or in your midst, or give ear to their heretical teachings."
I had asked Prof. MYY - Do you agree with this Kalpana? Looking by
the witnessing by many people here, perhaps he does and looks like he
practises all these - so he may not fall under the category of 'Kalla
Upadeshi' above, but after the recent Kalpana, he sure does not have
the blessing of the Church anymore. So his followers, who also
profess Orthodox Christianity are now on their own.
In my mind, walking the talk and talking the walk cannot be too
different - and I am not saying that an Orthodox Christian needs to
keep harping about praying for the departed etc inorder to retain his
identity - that is not what I meant, anyways all that is just my
opinion.
In the ecumenical minded world we live today - Parumala Thirumeni who
lived long ago and travelled much less is far too ancient for us. It
may not be too fashionable to talk about such Kalpanas anymore.
As for me, I have no reason to doubt the wisdom of the Holy Episcopal
Synod. Have a blessed Christmas.
