Holy Qurbana - Not that tough!!!

All,
We often complain that we do not understand enough for
participating meaningfully in the Holy Qurbana. I was
thinking on those lines.....some thoughts to share with young
friends on IOIF -

We use "Haleluiah" so many times during the
Qurbana(I counted 30+ times including 'Anpudayone and
Dhoopaprarthanas)."Haleluiah" means "Praise be to the Lord". Even if
we understand nothing about the Qurbana -- we could just
remember this one meaning -- and sing it whole heartedly
along with the rest of the crowd -- praise the Lord
one more time for the countless blessings (remember how we hear the
Pentecostal people use this word frequently). If not for anything
else, participate in the Qurbana every week for this oppurtunity to
sing "Haleluiah" to Him!

We use "Kurielaison" so many times during the Holy
Qurbana( I counted 25). "Kurielaison" means "O Lord have mercy upon
us". Even if we understand nothing about the Qurbana,
we could just remember this one meaning -- and cry this
little prayer at each opportunity with the rest of the crowd -- so
that God has mercy on us sinners. If not for anything else, Qurbana
is worth participating for this great little prayer which we could
sing with tears!

Trisagion is the time to once again reiterate that the Creator is
Holy. We could just understand that much and cry out from our heart
this prayer with the crowd. Another reason to be there in Church on
Sunday!

And so on and so forth..Qurbana is really not that tough, is it! We could
find numerous reasons to be at the Lord's table (Qurbana) every Sunday morning,
only if we have the proper outlook towards it, and the willingness to
explore the treasure of faith handed down to us.

Thinking about it, all throughout the Qurbana we dwell on one theme -
"PRAISE HIM", and if we just understood some bit of the above -- we
have already understood a great lot about the Qurbana. Going
forward - the Holy Spirit could slowly, but surely open our eyes and
ears to the Heavenly Mysteries being revealed to us mere mortals
each Sunday during the Qurbana - all we need to do is show our
willingness to know -- He will teach us!

Complaining will lead us nowhere.
Step by step we may learn the Qurbana -- and even a whole lifetime
could be less to comprehend the mysteries involved!
